Titi Ogufere is a pioneering designer, design advocate, critical thinker, and visionary. She believes that the potential for design to change society and bring economic development is underrated. Ogufere champions the cause with a relentless drive in breaking boundaries, pushing the agenda of advocacy, sustainability, collaboration, growth, identity discovery, problem-solving, and education. She has received acclaim for her design approach and is at the forefront of the industry in Africa.
Titi is the Creative Director of Essential Interiors Consultancy and CEO of Essential Media Group (EMG), a full-service media company spread across the platforms of Publishing, Events and Digital Media. EMG publishes two leading magazines, organizes a design festival, two highly specialized exhibitions, conferences, an awards program and has published over 25 books including This is Africa: Traditional Design, Modern and Contemporary (2017), In Conversation with Demas Nwoko (2019) and Vernacular Design: Redefining the Narrative (2019).
Titi is an exceptional creative with an interior design career that began in 2000 and is arguably among the top 10 leaders of the design world in Africa. As a leader and pioneer in the field, she is also the founder of the Interior Designers Association of Nigeria (IDAN) and Design Week Lagos (DWL), West Africa’s first global design festival.

Steve Leung is a Hong Kong-born leading architect, interior and product designer. As a dedicated contemporary-style advocate, Steve’s works reflect a strong and unique character of minimalism, with skillful adoption of Asian culture & arts.
Steve set up his own architectural and urban planning consultancy in 1987 and restructured the company into Steve Leung Architects Ltd. and Steve Leung Designers Ltd. in 1997. Headquartered in Hong Kong, China and has branch four offices in mainland China, the company has over 400 highly-calibred staff to work on a wide spectrum of property development and hospitality projects.
Steve has led extensive famed projects and has been credited with over 120 design and corporate awards in Asia Pacific region and worldwide. With a worldwide recognition, Steve was invited to join yoo, an international acclaimed design company founded by property entrepreneur John Hitchcox and Philippe Starck, as Creative Director of ‘Steve Leung & yoo’, as well as having product collaborations with international brands such as Graham and Brown, Visionnaire and Villeroy & Boch.
As the Executive Director of Design Committee at China National Interior Decoration Association (CIDA) and one of the founders of C Foundation, Steve has served the design industry in many capacities with enthusiasm.

Carlos Eduardo (Cadu) Scheliga’s diversified education and experience spans across Design, Design management, civic development and technical knowledge. Notable outcomes relate to his work with the development of creative cities. He obtained degrees in Industrial Design, Creative Economy, as well as an MBA in Strategic Management at FIA USP, one of the top 10 MBAs in the world.
His private company – Questtono Innovation and Design – boasts headquarters in São Paulo and offices in New York City and Rio de Janeiro. The company specializes in a broad range of solutions aimed at crafting meaningful end-user experiences through urban innovation and mobility, the environment and Design research.
This well-rounded expertise has allowed him to practice his interest in all aspects of humanity and human life at the international level. Through his visionary work and focus on the human-led experience and life betterment for all, Cadu has most notably been engaged with the State of São Paulo for the past 20 years, where he supports efforts for the infrastructural development for the city. He was also a member of the Strategic Committee of The Brazilian Design Biennial for seven years. His work has been recognised with national and international awards at IDSA’s IDEA Awards, IF and many others.
His association volunteer service includes three terms as President of the Brazilian Product Designers Association (ADP), for which Cadu still serves as a Board Member. His personal mission as President of ADP was centred on building a closer cooperation between education and practice.

Shashi Caan, currently holding the position of Chief Executive Officer on the Executive Committee of IFI’s Executive Board, is a distinguished thought leader for architectural design internationally. As a practitioner, design futurist, educator and author, her dedication to furthering human betterment through and by design is reflected in her 25-year design career both as a practitioner as well as design professor.
Co-founder and leader of THE SC COLLECTIVE (2002), the innovatively structured firm, Shashi is also the Co-founder and President of GloW-DESIGN (Globally We Design), an international thought leadership platform, through which her ReDesignEd Educators Forum facilitated the Universal Design Education Charter in 2018 and 2019 Johannesburg Declaration. Shashi was formerly Associate Partner and Design Director with Skidmore, Owings and Merrill (SOM), in New York and Chair of the Interior Design Department at Parsons, the New School for Design.
Shashi is a former two-term President for IFI, and has been recognized as a Fellow of the IFI and Fellow of Royal Society of the Arts, UK. She holds honorary fellowships from the Australian Institute of Designers, the British Institute of Interior Design, as well as the American Society of Interior Design.
She was Contract Magazine’s US Designer of the Year (2004), granted the Golden Seat Architectural Master Award of China (2012), and appointed JDP Design Ambassador to Japan (2013), this amongst her many awards and accolades for design projects and design leadership across the world. Her seminal book, Rethinking Design and Interiors: Human Beings in the Built Environment (2011), has been translated into multiple languages.

Suzie Attiwill, Ph.D.

In all areas of her practice, as an educator and Designer, Suzie is a passionate and committed advocate for the discipline of Interior Design. Her career trajectory plies academic roles with a freelance practice in Interior, exhibition and curatorial Design. In 2018 she was appointed as the inaugural Associate Dean Interior Design, RMIT University. In this role, she’s responsible for providing strategic direction as well as ensuring learning and teaching quality, directing research relevance and industry engagements.
Her research is recognised internationally and has been published as book chapters, journal articles, conference presentations and exhibitions; committed to fostering research in the discipline, and the value of its social and cultural contribution, Suzie has led the Interior Design PhD stream as part of the School of Architecture and Urban Design’s Practice Research Symposiums in Melbourne, Barcelona and Ho Chi Minh City.
From 2006 to 2012, she was Chair of IDEA (Interior Design/Interior Architecture Educators Association). She is a member of the Design Institute of Australia; an Australian Design Honoree, Australian Design Centre; an Honorary Life member, Craft Victoria and an Honorary member, Interior Design/Interior Architecture Educators Association. In 2015, House and Garden nominated her as one of Australia’s most influential women.

Michael Cruz Pizarro finished his Pre- Med course in Biology until he decided to fulfil his true calling as an Interior Designer, obtaining a Degree at the Philippine School of Interior Design (PSID).
He founded his own Interior Design firm, MPID, and its subsidiary company, Acanthus Home Furniture and Furnishing.
Pizarro placed first as an Interior Design Board Top Notcher in 1995. He was awarded as an Outstanding Alumni during the PSID 50th Anniversary in 2017. He received a Special Citation as one of the Outstanding Professional of the Year in 2015, he was an Awardee of the Condo Living Interior Designer Awards in 2013 and he is an Achievement Awardee as recognized by PSID in 2002.
He served as PIID Executive Director for Professional Practice from 2015- 2017 and became a PIID Fellow in 2018. Currently, he is a Council Member of Asia Young Designers Award (AYDA) in partnership with Nippon Paint Coatings Philippines. He is the only Filipino Interior Designer involved in this event. From 2014 to 2019, he held the role of Interior Design Judge of the same competition.

Victoria Plasencia is an award-winning Interior Designer and founder of VP Interiorismo, established in the city of Guadalajara in Jalisco, México. Her company is guided by a wish to transform spaces that are inspired by aspiration, lifestyle and the ambition to improve quality of life.
Victoria has spoken at several professional conferences and participated in television programs, and her Interior Design work has been published across a range of books, newspapers and magazines. Expanding on her studies and expertise in Design, Victoria’s professional knowledge incorporates business management and administration, painting, carpentry, ceramics, landscaping, stained-glass and Féngh Shui. She has also designed furniture for a range of major clients.
In acknowledgment of her work as an Interior Designer, Victoria has been recognized with multiple awards including international Property Awards in 2017, 2018 and 2019, International Hotel & Property Awards 2019, a Silver Medal at the IV International Biennial Women in Architecture Interior Design and Landscape Casa Cañadas 2008, and received first place in III International SMI Forum Casa Cañadas as 2008.
Sezin Hatice Tanrıöver, Ph.D.

Sezin obtained her Bachelor and Master’s Degrees in Interior Architecture from I. D. Bilkent Universtiy, and a PhD Degree in Architecture/Building Sciences from Middle East Techinical Universtiy, Ankara. She then went on to work as an instructor at I. D. Bilkent University between 1999 and 2008; and as a visiting research fellow in the Medial Architecture Research Unit (MARU) in London Southbank Universtiy for their post-doctoral study (2007). Sezin currently teaches at Bahçeşehir Univesty, Istanbul and was appointed as the Head of the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design in 2009. She was the Coordinator of the Interior Design Graduate Program between 2011 and 2019 at Bahçeşehir University. Her responsibilities as lecturer involve the Degree Project Design Studio, Lighting and Color Application, Professional Practice and Ethics as an undergraduate program; Interior Design Studio (conceptual) and Lighting Design as graduate program.
Sezin has been recognized with articles published on the topics of Architectural Lighting Design, Interior Design Education and Interior Design in Architectural Science Review, Open House Journal Open House Journal, Arkitekt, Megaron, as well we conference papers included as chapters in selected papers books and books. Her passion is research on healthcare Interiors, which she pursues with her graduate students, as well as the impacts of healthcare environments on the health of patients and the performance of medical staff.

Urmo Vaikla is a practicing Interior Architect/Designer and founder and partner of Vaikla Studio, a multidisciplinary Interior Architecture, art and Design studio in Tallinn. He earned his MA in Graphic Design and photography from the Estonian Academy of Arts in 1990.
He currently works as an educator, and he held the role of associate professor in the Department of Interior Architecture at the Estonian Academy of Arts from 2006 to 2013. He was most notably honored as Winner of the Interior Design competition of the Estonian Presidency of the EU Council in 2016.
Urmo was the President of the Estonian Society of Interior Architects (ESL) from 2013-17, and currently serves on the ESL Advisory Board, and is a member of the Estonian Artists Association. He is also a member of the Estonian Artists Association and the Estonian Society of Interior Architects.

Kamy Abrarpour has dedicated his life to Design and the Design market for over 40 years. He runs by Kamy, a most innovative Design brand and industry leader in the carpet segment. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business and Public Administration from the University of Texas and a degree in Edification from Prudente de Moraes School in São Paulo.
His leadership in the Interior Architecture/ Design world fostered iniatives like the Archademy – a startup for collective Architecture networks – and the Insieme Project with Politecnico di Milano – which gathered dozens of Designers, Architects and students working during an entire year to translate Brasil’s identity through Interior Design.
His work directing by Kamy industry and stores positioned the company at the forefront during many exclusive events and in the hospitality world both in Brasil and abroad. He is the President of Store Associations of the D&D Shopping and Gabriel Monteiro da Silva Street, the two most important poles of Interior Architecture/Design in the city of São Paulo.
The São Paulo DW elected by Kamy as the most interesting Design store several years in a row and during Casa Cor the company displayed its work in about one third of the environments. The Revolution platform, developed by his company, allows customers to design their own prints, with materials imported from Finland.
Kamy is a leader in Brazilian Design and business community, with deep roots in the Iranian tradition inherited from his father, paying special attention to textiles, handicraftery, new techniques, pattern/ surface Design and environmental Design. He speaks Farsi, English, Italian, Portughese and Spanish.

Zakkiya Khan is a PhD candidate and the co-ordinator of the under-graduate Interior Architecture programme at the Department of Architecture, University of Pretoria. She presents modules in Design, Design Theory and Material Studies and has supervised numerous Master’s students.
Her research interests lie in the role of taste in Interior Design. She is particularly interested in the ways in which culture is (re)produced in interiors through taste making. He PhD study is an exploration into the localisation of global brands through retail Design, a topic she derived from her practice experience in retail Design.
She has published and presented papers in a variety of South African and international conferences on topics such as Design education, Interior theory and retail. Zakkiya is a presenter on a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) in collaboration with the University of Witwatersrand. She was recently a visiting scholar at the University of Lincoln, England where she presented her co-authored book chapter, A thin veneer: interior design’s social compact. The publication deals with the tensions between Interior Design’s social compact and the commercial realm in which the discipline finds expression.
