Dubai adopts the IFI Interiors Declaration
The city of Dubai became the 127th city to adopt the Interiors Declaration during the Inauguration Ceremony on 25 February 2020 in Dubai, UAE.
Global delegates from the International Federation of Interior Designers/Architects (IFI), local representatives and industry guests were present during the signing of the Interiors Declaration with Marwan Abdullah Al Mohammed, Head of Engineering of the Dubai Municipality and Steve Leung, IFI Past-President in a special ceremony in Dubai, UAE. This document is a consensus-based vision/mission statement on the purpose and value of Interior Architecture/Design, which asserts that, by design, Interiors optimally support humanity in all of its functions and activities.
The Declaration forms a unanimous agreement that establishes the essential foundations for the Interiors discipline and its advancement worldwide. The ideas contained in the Declaration provide clear goals for Interiors professionals and affect the fundamental understanding and shaping of our practice, its education and research, and the outcomes required of our built environment in support of humanity, society and culture.
