EMU | ‘EMU Department of Interior Architecture’s Global Conversation with Projects in Design Studios’

With hope, we have the possibility of rethinking and reshaping normal aspects of living for the long-term. While we count on regaining facets of our lives, we also anticipate taking part in new and continuing design community conversations of IFI WID 2021. Discussions focused on describing and redefining ‘life as normal’ in an ever-shifting world are expected.

Chairperson of EMU Department of Interior Architecture Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zehra Öngül made a statement for the 2021 IFI World Interiors Day emphasizing that the Interior Architecture profession has a nature to support human life both physically and psychologically in changing world conditions and pointed out that the globally effective Covid-19 Pandemic process have supported this idea once again.

On behalf of the EMU Department of Interior Architecture, under the coordination of IFI Committee members Assoc. Prof. Dr. Asu Tozan and Research Assistant Nüvit Köseoğlu, a creative conversation was formed with the contributions of all studio instructors and students, based on the processes that took place in their design studios in the 2020-2021 Fall Semester. “EMU Department of Interior Architecture’s Global Conversation with Projects in Design Studios”, an inspirational video consisting of written and graphic expressions was compiled by bringing together student project examples and key words related to those projects. During the online education process that took place in the 2020-2021 Fall Semester, rich conversations with different project topics were held in the design studios. These conversations emphasized the important role of the Interior Architecture profession on shaping the renewed life in changing world conditions. There were socializing, education, living and working spaces among the mentioned project subjects. Participation to the global conversation was achieved via the conversations, discussions and interior designs about these wide range of design subjects.
