Taiwan Design Week 2024

Returning for its second edition, Taiwan Design Week 2024, organized by the Taiwan Design Research Institute (TDRI), offers an international platform for Taiwan’s design community through exhibitions, forums, and networking events.

Centered around the theme “The Gateway”, this year’s edition leverages Taiwan’s strong foundation in AI hardware, curated by architects and graphic designer through a design lens to explore humanity’s transition into a new AI-driven “Stone Age.” Just as early humans learned to shape stones into tools, today we are learning to harness AI—the “stone” of this era—and discovering how it will reshape our lives. The exhibition brings together Taiwan’s leading AI companies, universities, and design and art collectives, along with a series of engaging forums. One of the highlights is a collaborative dialogue with the Polish Graphic Design Foundation, featuring top visual designers from both Taiwan and Poland discussing the future of design in an AI-driven world.

A centerpiece of Taiwan Design Week will be the Golden Pin Design Award (GPDA) ceremony on 13 December, also hosted by TDRI. As one of Asia’s most respected design awards, GPDA celebrates outstanding design talent and innovation across the region.

Taiwan Design Week 2024 will take place from 7 to 15 December 2024 at Songshan Cultural and Creative Park in central Taipei, with the exhibition extended through 2 February 2025.
